I’ve been looking forward to this album ever since last year’s masterful I Speak Because I Can. Laura Marling is one of the most versatile and talented musicians around, and at only 21 her lyrics have an amazing maturity and confessional quality that is almost entirely unmatched. A Creature I Don’t Know has the traditional folk sounds of previous albums, but also more aggressive, bluesy and rocky tracks which make this one hell of a well rounded album.

Readers from the US and Canada can stream the album from the New York Times website (here) up until it’s September 12th release date, and European readers from the Guardian’s site here. Go and fall in love with Laura Marling…
