Let’s face it: there are a lot of shitty rappers out there. What’s worse is that there’s a tendency for them to attract attention through their controversial style or behavior and ignore the technical aspects of their craft.

Azealia Banks, the 20-year-old rapper who hails from Harlem, is looking to do things a little differently with “Grand Scam (Lyrical Exercise).” Though the track is only roughly 90 seconds longs, the girl does not take a break, going in non-stop over production by Machinedrum. Hey, who knows? She’s squeaky clean right now, but I have a feeling that even if she comes up with some transvestite-prostitute/crack-pipe-in-back-alley scandal, I’ll be able to look past it. Banks is currently finishing up her mixtape, so in the meantime, check out “Grand Scam” below.
