A few days we heard “Hurricane,” a catching piece of pop with a veneer of fog and darkness creeping in on the edges. It was the debut single from MS MR, a New York duo who are already set to win the hearts and minds of many if they keep churning out songs as big as this one. A video premiere on Pitchfork can’t hurt, which is what happened today when the visuals for “Hurricane” were released. MS MR are living up to their self-nominated genre of “Tumblr Glitch Pop” with this video, crafting a never-ending stream of vintage-y images and clips to match the beat of their own song.
I’m not positive, but I’m pretty sure there was a shot from Cat People in there. Which is a pretty good monster movie, if you’re interested in checking it out.
