For their “American Masters” series, PBS recently debuted Inventing David Geffen, a rare opportunity to get a full glimpse of David Geffen, a figure within the music and entertainment industry for over four decades. He’s helped the world hear artists like Nirvana, Guns ‘N’ Roses, Yoko Ono, Elton John, Neil Young and countless others, establishing indie labels that ended up rolling into major label situations. He’s branched out into movies and more, but has rarely let the media so deep into his world. Told alongside many of the figures he’s worked with and for, here’s a 20 minute excerpt; you’ll have to head over to PBS to watch the full one hour and 54 minute feature.
