“I am completely devastated to announce that I will be canceling my international festival dates for the Summer. I wish I could put in words how much of a difficult decision this was…but between moving part time to a new city, starting my son in a new school, and writing/ recording my new record…I really had to make the best decision for my mental/physical health and provide some stability for my family. I am so so sooooo sorry if I’ve disappointed…… and really hope to make it out to those special cities soon enough!”

Thus spoke Solange as she broke the news that she would be canceling her remaining European tour dates to remain home. Nine concerts will bite the dust as a result, with Solange picking the mic back up in L.A. on August 24. The real story here, however, is her rational. When artists cancel tours, it’s usually because of some grievous personal injury or tragedy — and if it’s not, they just lie and say it is. Solange is admirably candid in her reasoning, prioritizing her personal mental health over her career. What do you think of her decision?
