Next week is the tenth anniversary of the release of Kanye West’s game-changing College Dropout, and the music media is sure to be full of stories, think-pieces, and retrospectives. Billboard has got started early, sharing never-seen-before footage of Kanye West recording with Pharrell, getting confronted by an angry rapper in Chicago, and even having the wires cut off his teeth after his car accident. The footage all comes from Coodie Simmons and Chike Oza, the directors behind the “Through The Wire,” “Slow Jamz,” “Jesus Walks,” and “Two Words” videos. The two are interviewed in the Billboard clip above, and speak in more detail on the making of some of the videos on Billboard here.
