Thundercat‘s magnificent, Flying Lotus-produced Apocalypse is just over six months old, and he’s trying something a little different for the accompanying visuals. Today Thundercat released two songs as one video—Myspace teamed up with the bassist extraordinaire for a twofer: “Evangelion” and “We’ll Die.”

Thundercat’s complex rhythms are paired here with some seriously dramatic images. “Evangelion” follows the artist as he moves through a variety of dilapidation and emptiness, with only a samurai sword as his companion. It’s followed up with a rendition of “We’ll Die,” highlighted by a glimpse of Thundercat’s unbelievable speed on the bass. Stream the video above.
