Vince Staples’ rise to fame has been slowly growing traction ever since his showstopping verse on Earl Sweatshirt’s “Hive,” and his impressive Shyne Coldchain Vol.2 showcased a considerable amount of growth. One of the mixtape’s standout tracks “Nate” has been given a poignant Alexi Papalexopoulos-directed clip, which follows a young Staples going through the experiences that he so painstakingly describes in the song. A striking portrait of a boy wrongly idolizing his father, “Nate” and its video are remarkably powerful.
