In sad news, we’re receiving word that A$AP Yams, one of the founders of the A$AP Mob and—as the New York Times put it—”the spirit guide of hip-hop,” has passed away. At the time of this writing, the cause of death is unknown. For those unaware, it was Yams alongside A$AP Bari and A$AP Illz, that founded the A$AP Mob in 2007, which brought us the likes of A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg.

Yams was one of the executive producers behind Long.Live.A$AP and Trap Lord, but was truthfully a visionary for the A$AP mindset and sound. He taught us a lot, was great at Twitter, and judging by the outpouring of condolences being popping up on social media, will be sorely missed. He was 26 years old.
