When Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me A River” first came out, I was a freshman in high school and I was awkward as hell. I didn’t get invited to a lot of social events, so many nights consisted of me singing along to Justified by myself in my room. I had barely talked to a boy, let alone had a relationship, but I used to sing “Cry Me A River” like a true lover scorned. Smh. CHVRCHES’ cover of the song is, clearly, far superior. But that shouldn’t be surprising considering their track record of tackling pop classics.

Watch their version above, recorded at BBC Radio 1 for host Fearne Cotton’s Brits Live Lounges series.
