With his Marauding In Paradise mixtape out in April, Toronto rapper Jazz Cartier is gearing up for what might be a huge release. He’s been turning heads with introspective, two-tone tracks like “Rose Quartz/Like Crazy,” and today he returns with a video for “New Religion.”

It’s another effort in duality from the young MC: half the video is spent amidst the grit of downtown Toronto, the other half in the nearby affluence of Rosedale. Cartier prowls the streets in a hood and a fur coat, respectively, reflecting on his recent success and contemplating how this new religion of money will shape the not-too-distant future.
