Anytime a new service, website or app comes along there always seems to be a lot of perks in the beginning to grab the attention of new customers. Tidal gained many new users by releasing new content exclusively, but this new perk is something no one would have expected.
Apparently, Jay Z has been randomly calling Tidal subscribers to personally thank them. Tidal executive Vania Schlogel told Business Insider that Jay Z has been making calls to some lucky new users. Jack White and some of the other co-owners have also been calling their fans. Tidal has a part of their system that allows musicians involved in Tidal to see the contact information of the fans who listen to their music, so they can contact them directly.
But that’s not the only big effort that Jay Z has made in order to make Tidal more appealing to new customers. For those of you who may be concerned about losing all of the Spotify playlist that you spent a lot of time making, Tidal’s got that covered. According to The Verge, Tidal has recently teamed up with a website called Soundiiz, which allows users to transfer playlists from one music app to another. Thanks to this partnership, you will also be able to transfer playlist from SoundCloud, Xbox Music, iTunes and more onto Tidal. Cue Jay Z’s “What More Cay I Say.”
