In 2013, Justin Vernon made a very bold statement during an Australian radio interview when he said, “I don’t really write songs anymore…I really have to be in a specific headspace to even begin to illuminate an idea that would create another Bon Iver record, and I’m just not there.” It left fans feeling like Bon Iver might be over for good. Two years later, however, Vernon has finally delivered the news Bon Iver fans have been hoping for.

During a recent interview with Minneapolis’ KARE 11, Vernon revealed that he and the band plan to headline the Eaux Claires Music Festival—the music festival that he created, which will be held this July in his home state of Wisconsin. Vernon explained, “It’s the perfect platform for us to be like this is how we’re starting this new cycle, this new life of the band. It makes so much sense to start it here, right where it all started.”
