Reckless show-goers can’t be stopped. An unidentified man joined Earl Sweatshirt, sans invitation, onstage during the rapper’s performance last night in Sydney, Australia and received a punch to the head. As what sounds like “Grief” warmed up, the individual spread his arms wide and embraced Earl from behind. The left jab that followed had the unwanted guest staggering backward before security took him down.

A report from Australia’s News.Com notes the intrusion may have been spurred by disapproving remarks made earlier by Earl, who saw the trouble-stirrer kicking others as he attempted to crowd-surf. Pitchfork reached out to two reps, who both labeled the embrace more of an attack than a hug.

The likelihood of encountering obnoxious, if not unacceptable, behavior is contingent on the environment. Concerts long ago became a haven for people who, whether driven by crowd mentality or loud music, break free of social norms and show their true colors. PSA: We don’t want to see those colors.

Watch fan footage of the altercation above. Earl shared a pair of tweets regarding the incident, which you can view below.
