DJ Mustard knock-off beats have been flooding the radio since the reign of “I’m Different” and “Rack City”—but we rarely get to hear from the man himself on the proliferation of his sound. Now, in the wake of an alleged lawsuit between the producers of 2014 summer hit “Fancy” and the producers of 2015 summer hit “Classic Man,” Mustard apparently feels compelled to speak out.

“Fancy was a rip off…Classic mans a rip off…Str8 up!” he said on Twitter, implying that both (admittedly Mustard-esque) beats were much closer to being his intellectual property than that of the (supposed) plaintiffs. To complicate matters, Iggy Azalea said back in July that “Classic Man” sampled “Fancy,” which Jidenna just refuted this week during an appearance on Hot 97.

No reports of a lawsuit (other than Mustard’s) have surfaced—P&P has reached out Wondaland and Iggy’s reps to confirm.
