As Earl Sweatshirt’s guest on “Sasquatch,” Tyler, the Creator allocated a portion of his verse to reference One Direction. The lines centrally lambasted the band’s typical fans, alluding to a sinister scene in which the rapper lures them to a trunk with puppy signs. That same year he trained his scope at the group on “Domo23.” A shout out to his longtime inspiration, Justin Bieber, preceded the two artists “taking aim in one direction.”
Zayn Malik, a founding member of 1D aka the antithesis to Odd Future, parted ways with the other members in March. Tyler, the Creator evidently caught wind of the split at some point and chose to seize the opportunity with a recent tweet, located below. How could he possibly turn down beautiful instrumentals?
UPDATE: Zayn Malik has now responded to Tyler, the Creator admitting that he’s willing to do a collaboration. Now, all we can do is wait around and see what comes from this union.
