UK producer and Lapsley collaborator Draper tackles the gauzy textures that have become de rigeur in “Soundcloud” music with a clarity and delicateness. Collaboration with singer Alby Hobbs “On You” showcases Draper’s sonic sharpness, giving clearly defined shape to skittering drums and warm synths that might be loosely thrown about in other hands.

The accompanying video comprises a loose narrative, following a man taking out his frustrations on a punching bag across an abandoned, beautiful rural setting. It’s a fittingly stark and simple treatment for a song like “On You,” one that’s texturally rich while benefitting from restraint.
