There have been a LOT of big hits since Spotify first launched in 2008, like “Blurred Lines,” “Happy,” and pretty much any Taylor Swift song. However, none of these are the platform’s most streamed song ever, despite their huge commercial success.
That coveted spot now belongs to Major Lazer, DJ Snake & MØ’s massive hit, “Lean On.” According to Billboard, the song has racked up a whopping 526 million plays worldwide. 526 million! Worldwide! Damn. The feat trumps Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud,” which previously held the record.
Not like you need a reminder of the song, but just in case, watch their cinematic video for the track above.
