Adele’s “Hello” quickly became one of the biggest singles of the digital music era, debuting atop the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming the first song to surpass one million digital sales in a single week.

Meanwhile, BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge has long been known for inviting artists to play interesting covers of popular contemporary songs, so when British rock group The Maccabees were in the studio earlier today, they put their own spin on the monolithic ballad, picking up the tempo to give the soaring tune an indie rock edge.
