While Grimes’ “Flesh Without Blood” video was a thrilling (and deliciously bloody) re-introduction to her signature aesthetic, it lacked some of the reckless, vibrant art design we know the singer can do so well.

That void has been filled to the brim with the new visuals for “Kill V. Maim.” Grimes takes a few cues from Mad Max—the video’s most memorable sequence takes place while Grimes is draped atop a hot-pink minivan, the roof ripped off to fit her war girls.

But it’s also only something only she could make—there’s a Blade-style blood rave, a brutal jheri curl, and some original Grimes animation dotting the video’s corners. It’s a lot to take in, but the bar for music videos in 2016 has most assuredly been raised.
