Chance The Rapper was apparently one of the last few people with their hands on Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo before it released (although the version of the album we know now supposedly isn’t finished), and he was proud enough of his contributions to hop on Genius and annotate some lyrics from his verse on the album’s first track, “Ultralight Beam.”

Regarding the lyric “You can feel the lyrics, the spirit coming in braille/Tubman of the underground, come and follow the trail,” Chance wrote, “The Tubman line refers to my own leadership of all other artists towards independence and freedom.” Chance also said that “Ultralight Beam” was originally going to be the album-closing track instead of the opener, and he co-signed a few other annotations as well.
