At a musical instrument trade fair in Germany, keyboardist Marco Parisi stepped behind a MIDI controller called the Seaboard RISE and covered Jimi Hendrix’s 1967 hit “Little Wing.” Under the bright fluorescent lights of an industrial conference hall, the performance lacked the light-your-guitar-on-fire rockstar flair of a Hendrix show, but what Parisi was able to pull off was pretty amazing.

Taking advantage of the keyboard’s ability to bend notes on the fly, Parisi pulls off one of the most expressive performances you’ll see on an electronic instrument. Play this one to politely end the next “music is losing its soul to technology” rant you’re forced to endure.
