To that end, this commercial is a sure thing. You can almost hear the boardroom meeting for this commercial—”how can we go viral?”
This is their answer: a modern, anesthetized radio hit (they censor Drake’s “Taliban” shoutout), and self-deprecation. Taylor takes a tumble, and salvages what could have been one of the most hateable Apple commercials of all time.
These two have come a long way, though. It wasn’t too long ago that Taylor was scolding Apple for not paying artists royalties. Time and money heal all wounds, I guess. Watch the commercial above.
