Denzel Curry has been having a busy year so far. Earlier this year he released his latest project titled Imperial, delivered an impressive freestyle at our AirP&P for SXSW, and recently put us on to some other talented artists coming out of Florida. And last week he stopped by to co-host an episode of our new live submission series “The Inbox.”
Curry’s jam-packed schedule comes with good reason. Aside from being busy touring around the country, the young South Florida rapper has more eyes on him now that he’s on the XXL’s Freshman 2016 cover.
During a recent interview with the publication, Curry explained how seeing rappers like Rick Ross shoot videos in his hometown let him know that it was possible for someone like him to make it in the music industry. He went on to explain that he hopes to inspire the next generation of kids from Miami like those before him.

Denzel Curry also delivered a quick freestyle for XXL. Watch that below.
