Today’s Watermill Center annual summer charity benefit in the Hamptons was slated to have more in store for hip-hop fans than it usually does, as artist Robert Wilson and Kanye West were set to premiere a collaborative art installation at the event. However, it was revealed that their installation has been delayed and is now postponed to next year’s event.
Representatives for the Watermill Center told The Observer, “Robert Wilson and Kanye West have made an artistic decision to postpone their collaboration in order to continue developing a performance work.”
The installation was originally announced as a performance by Kanye, for which Wilson was to design the set and lighting. Controversial Russian rock band Pussy Riot is still scheduled to perform at the event, however.
