In a feature interview with Complex coinciding with the release of their new album, SremmLife 2, Rae Sremmurd's Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi revealed that they're both working on individual solo projects—but their future as a duo isn't in danger.

Explaining that he has a project in the works called
Swaecation, Lee revealed that he has "eight songs right now that I feel like are candidates for the project, but I gotta make sure they’re all up to par."

Lee's project joins similar rumors of an
Uncle Jxmmi project from his brother. Clearly weary that news of the solo material will tempt outsiders to tear the duo apart, Jxmmi hinted that he may never even release his project because he doesn't want to "satisfy the world like that."

"I already know the industry been wanting to ask that question," Jxmmi said when the topic of solo projects came up. “The whole industry going to do shit to separate us. We got separate tracks, because we can both rap."

Lee was also quick to clarify: “When we say solo projects, we say chances for the fans to get to see us individually. But we’re still Sremmed out. We might put them on the same disc—who knows? We definitely got different projects that we’re working on and tweaking.”

In the meantime, there's plenty of new Rae Sremmurd material for fans to chew on. Listen to a stream of SremmLife 2 here.
