Drake had been teasing his Views short film Please Forgive Me, for a while now, announcing that it'd be coming yesterday. Now the short film is finally here, and as expected it's exclusively available on Apple Music. Director by Anthony Mandler and written by Mandler alongside Drake himself, Please Forgive Me follows the release of the "Childs Play" video, which arrived earlier this month.
The newly released short film is a fairly dramatic affair, with Drake shooting a lot of guns inbetween brief music videos for "One Dance," "Controlla," "Summer's Over Interlude," and more. Drake stars in the film alongside Popcaan, who acts as his partner in crime of sorts. The film also stars Belgian model Fanny Neguesha, who's at the center of their plan to steal $1 million from a mysterious businessman. All of this takes place in Johannesburg, and because things are never simple, it all goes wrong resulting in a lot of violence.
It's very action-packed, barely pausing throughout its 20-minute running time. There's shoot-outs, a slow motion explosion, and some hammy acting from Drake, which is pretty much all you could want from a Drake music video. The short film also features some new soundtrack work from Noah "40" Shebib, channeling his inner John Carpenter for a number of scenes.
