UPDATE: According to The Fader, a rep for Andre 3000 has said that there's "no Outkast news to report" right now. Though Gucci's snapchat seemed to give Outkast fans the glimmer of hope they've all been waiting for, it appears these collaboration dreams have already come to an end.
For a long time, it has seemed like OutKast is truly dead, that André 3000 and Big Boi are content on going their separate ways and never working together again. However, it now looks like a reunion might not only be possible, but already in progress.
In a recent Snapchat video, Gucci Mane may have let the cat out of the bag by rattling off a list of people he's been working with recently, starting off the video by saying, "I just did a record for OutKast."
The idea doesn't seem too outlandish: Big Boi has remained active in music, most recently as part of Big Grams, and André popped up on recent tracks from Frank Ocean and Travis Scott. Back in January, he also hinted that he wanted to make new music: "I still get time to think about music. [Shooting TV and film projects] is not so bad — it kind of puts you in the place where you’re fiending to do music. I’ve been holding [back] for a long time, so now I’m really interested in figuring out some type of music to do."
Watch Gucci's Snapchat video below, and let's all pray that Gucci didn't just misspeak, that this is really, finally happening.
