Earlier this month The xx announced their upcoming tour dates by sending free tickets to a few lucky fans. As the band gears up to release their third album I See You on January 13 via Young Turks, the trio have perfected a steady roll-out strategy. After performing their brand new single "On Hold" on Saturday Night Live last weekend, they return again this week with even more exciting news to share with fans.

Along with the select UK dates that they've already given lucky fans tickets for, The xx have extended their stay at London's O2 Brixton Academy to seven full nights. Their week long residency will mark a new record for the venue as the longest consecutive run of performances by a band. Aside from European dates, The xx are also scheduled to perform in Brazil, Argentia, and Chile for Lollapoolza's South American dates.
