Earlier this week it was reported that Kodak Black was released from St. Lucie County Jail on Monday afternoon, but he wasn't quite a free man. Kodak was transferred to the custody of South Carolina deputes on account of an outstanding warrant for a sexual assault charge in the state. He remained in custody through the transfer, and will have to report back for the trial. But Kodak paid his bail, and has revealed on Instagram that he is a free man for the moment.
Posting on Instagram, he said, "I'm happy to finally be going home to my family and friends." The post continued, "I look forward to clearing my name in the very near future. I want to thank God, my family, my team (Vanessa, Phatboy and James McMillan), Atlantic Records, my lawyers and all of my fans for your continuous love and support. I can't wait to get back to doing what I love most—working at being the illest rapper alive."
The Sun Sentinel is reporting that Kodak's freedom came at a cost of $100,000 bail. His South Carolina trial date is upcoming. Sexual battery in South Carolina carries a sentence up to 30 years.
