Travis Scott had a busy 2016. He dropped his sophomore studio album Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight, collaborated on one of our favorite songs of the year with Young Thug and Quavo, launched a successful Beats 1 radio show on Apple Music, and even surprised his family with a mansion on Christmas.
For 2017, his goals are simple: Make more beats and release his third studio album, Astroworld.
Having handled much of the production himself on early projects Owl Pharoah and Days Before Rodeo, Travis brought in an all-star cast including Mike Dean, Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, Hit-Boy, Cashmere Cat, Boi-1da, TM88, and Evian Christ to help with the production on his studio albums—so a heavier focus on beatmaking should be a welcomed sign for fans of his early work.
Travis also prepared fans for a 2017 release of Astroworld (which he named months before BITTSM dropped) in a subsequent tweet that teased a "tour soon" and finished with: "Astroworld 2017." Sounds like another productive year is ahead.
