If you’re a fan of rap movies, you’re probably in your glory these days. Tyler, The Creator released his Cherry Bomb documentary earlier this week, Young Dolph starred in a World Star Hip-Hop doc two weeks ago, and now we have yet another offering.
Gucci Mane’s independent film The Spot has finally dropped. Fans have waited years for its release. The film stars Gucci, his fiancée Keyshia Ka’oir, and rapper Rocko.
Rumors of the film first surfaced online in 2012. Fans expected it to be released in 2015, but it was pushed back. Gucci announced at the time that it would be out on iTunes and other digital retailers.

Though the movie didn’t drop then, Guwop did release the soundtrack for The Spot—a 13-track offering that featured Waka Flocka Flame, Rich Homie Quan, Young Dolph, K Camp, Trina, and more—in October 2015.
Dallas-based director Mr. Boomtown, who received a BET Video Director of the Year nomination in 2010, directed the comedy, and Gucci served as the executive producer.
Gucci was released from prison in May 2016 and managed to drop three albums that year. Last week, he released a mixtape, Droptopwop, with Metro Boomin. The tape was put out on May 26, which marked the one-year anniversary of Gucci's prison release.
The man is nothing if not prolific. He also has another independent film coming with Rick Ross, Ross announced in March.

Guwop also has an autobiography coming in September.
