We feel a certain way about Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. at P&P. But when certain pigeons started throwing the word "classic" around just a month after the album's release, we decided it had gone too far. So our intrepid reporter Angelito took to the streest of NYC once again to take the city's temperature when it came to classic albums.
The city was divided—while plenty of passers-by were willing to include Kendrick's last album in the rap canon, the age-old argument of a classic needing time to mature made multiple appearances. Other people offered their own definitions of a classic: Tupac's Me Against The World, Frank Ocean's Channel Orange, and Drake's Take Care all came up as alternate examples.
