That ASAP Rocky and T-Pain have never officially collaborated is one of the music world's great injustices, but we at least got a little closer to rectifying this travesty when a clip of Rocky freestyling and T-Pain playing piano was released as part of an upcoming AWGE DVD release. In the two-minute video, Lord Pretty Flacko and Teddy Pain are hanging out in a hotel, and Rocky's bars do genuinely seem off the cuff.
"Why I'm so happy, don't need to pout? Why Flacko Jodye got a mink on in the house?" he raps, before being interrupted by a hotel staff member.
AWGE is Rocky's secretive creative team, including people like jeweler Ben Baller, stylist Matt Henson, and the controversial Ian Connor, who has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women. They previously put out an exclusive Rocky and Lil Uzi Vert freestyle over Metro Boomin production as part of a release in September 2017.
Rocky has been teasing a new project, rumored to be called Testing, on social media, while T-Pain released his fifth studio album, Oblivion, in November. Rocky was also recently filmed freestyling with Ski Mask The Slump God, so it seems like he's making sure his tools are sharp for whatever new project is on the horizon, which he said will be about "testing new sounds" in an interview with GQ Style.
