Kanye West, Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Vado, Cyhi Da Prynce, Pusha-T, Musiq Soulchild, Teyana Taylor and Big Sean – “Christmas In Harlem”

Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Fridays series began in late August 2010 as a countdown of free tracks leading up to the late November release of his fifth album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Once the album dropped, G.O.O.D. Fridays disappeared faster than Rebecca Black – with one exception: “Christmas In Harlem.” The song saw West hosting a posse cut that read like a random twirl of his Rolodex over two Marvin Gaye samples blended into a nostalgic, soulful beat that evokes the comfort of the holiday season. Not that the lyrical content followed suit; Kanye turns it into an occasion to celebrate eggnog-fueled sex, while Pusha-T complains, “On the stoop of that brownstone shoveling the brown stone; Santa’s on a diet, gotta get the pounds gone,” and Cam’ron adds, “Never seen St. Nick, just niggas selling the same nicks, the same bricks.”
