Indie rockers are boring.
Let's face it; when it comes to legitimate stars, the indie scene feels a lot like a sterilized version of rock music. Sure, the music is relevant, exciting, and what we actually like to listen to, but if you're looking for a magnetic rockstar for charisma and sheer entertainment value, you're probably not going to find it in an indie band. You can argue that indie shows are, nine times out of ten, a better experience than hip-hop shows, but no indie rocker will ever compete with the presence of any of rap's superstars. Instead, the personalities are of people just like you and me, trying to make a living off of music. In some ways it's nice, but in others, we can't help but wish there was a little more excitement and showmanship.
