    Chairlift

With the ephemeral synth-pop of "Evident Utensil" off 2008's Does You Inspire You, Chairlift simultaneously slayed both the mainstream radio and hordes of indie pop loving listeners. Caroline Polachek's bird-chirp vocals and keyboard chops are complemented by Aaron Pfenning's ability to construct haunting, mesmerizing sonic backdrops. Still riding out the success of their 2012 sophomore effort Something the former Coloradan (now Williamsburg) duo are one of the shiniest, brightest electronic-pop acts of the moment. They manage to make their show interesting live with light shows, dancing, and earnest eagerness to perform. Plus "I Belong in Your Arms" was quietly one of the best love songs of last year—listen below to be won over.
