When Pitchfork announced that R.Kelly would be a headliner for their festival this year, the internet went wild. The site is mostly known for their ascension as the scions of indie rock, so naming a well-established R&B veteran as their top-billed artist felt slightly surprising to say the least. Yet, as time rolls on, and especially as R&B regains mainstream popularity, R.Kelly has become a hot button artist again. Hey, we're not complaining. One of the best things about his headlining slot is that you never know what to expect from an R.Kelly show. The R&B legend recently took the 2013 BET Awards stage to perform a medley of his greatest hits backed by a full choir—all while wearing a matching gold studded hat and jacket assemble. Hopefully he'll do costume changes for his Pitchfork set. One last thing—Write Me Back was so underrated!
