Everyone has a pick-me-up playlist for when they encounter one of those god-awful days. I’m talking about rain, Visa bills, and every single person who you pass by giving you the stink eye. My pick-me-up playlist features Little Joy, a Brazilian/American trio comprised of Fabrizio Moretti of The Strokes, Rodrigo Amarante of Los Hermanos, and Binki Shapiro.

They haven’t released any new material since their 2008 self-titled album debut, which is a damn shame, but it’s something I’ve always been able to revisit time and again. Their music is warm and inviting and contains an element of honesty because of the music’s simplicity, making it listenable on almost any occasion, but especially great for when you feel like shit. Cheer up, buttercup – here’s some Little Joy.
