Has any band ever managed to stay as consistently cool as Radiohead? Bands usually go through their ups and downs, and while everyone has their favorite Radiohead album that they’re willing to defend to the death, Thom Yorke and company have never gone stale, never been written off as an act you can afford to dismiss. They are always fresh. That’s why it’s odd to read about a demo from them in 1986. To put that in perspective, that’s over 25 fucking years ago.

Back then, the guys were called On A Friday and without guitarist Jonny Greenwood. “Fat Girl” has a very ’80s English rock sound to it, which makes sense, I suppose. Still, undeniably cool.
