Just two days ago I introduced you to Wildeflower, who hail from the leafy county of Surrey in England, and here is another young band from exactly the same place. Wildeflower’s “Good Girl” was a lo-fi acoustic track with a gentle vibe, and even though Mafia Lights make electro-pop, their music has similarly soft edges and is bathed in an enjoyably warm haze. The subject matter doesn’t quite match the calming warmth of the instrumentation, as the singer wearily recounts his failings, but if they continue making expansive electro-pop in this vein, he really shouldn’t be apologizing for anything.

“West” will be released backed by “Spiriting”, which you can also hear below, on April 16th and you can follow the band on Facebook here.
