A stellar slice of stripped down folk to evoke the colors of fall and tumbling leaves, a little bit of peace for those seeking solace among the hordes of trick or treaters. Jessica Pratt’s voice and aesthetic vividly recall a bygone era and locale–one currently, tragically submerged in the waters of Hurricane Sandy, a downtown Manhattan area that struggles first to turn the lights back on, then to preserve some semblance of history. Pratt’s voice and accompanying guitar form a potent, soothing mixture, a welcome four minute window into a far off world.
