Want a little sampling of everything that’s happening in electronic music right now…all at once? Well you won’t quite get that in Canadian producer Monolithium’s positively overflowing “Bounce 4 Life,” but you well get an impressively organized buffet of synths, samples, trap drums, and robotic clangs and clicks. The end product takes cues from glitch, trap, and the dub pioneered by artists like Burial (it’s not nearly as ethereal, but “Bounce 4 Life” treats vocals as melodic elements in a fashion reminiscent of songs on Burial’s seminal Untrue) to create something both frenetic and precise, bringing all of the weapons out to play, but mindful of when to pull them back.
