He hinted at new music being on its way earlier this week, but it wasn’t until tonight that Kid Cudi confirmed he was dropping a new track. True to his word, the self-produced, MGMT-sampling “Immortal” has just hit the web. The track sees Cudi firmly in his impressionistic soul-baring lane; he’s been balancing stream-of-consciousness flows with indelible melodies for his entire career up to this point, and “Immortal” is another extension of the style. After his recent announcement of an April 23rd release date for Indicud, it seems like this is our next look, after “King Wizard” and “Just What I Am,” at the long-awaited third solo album from Kid Cudi.

That Billy Madison sample to kick things off is weird but also seems like a quintessentially Kid Cudi addition, no?
