“Keep It Together” sounds like it was made by a band who can’t come to agreement on the style of music they’re going for. It’s like one guy wants to be a guitar band and the other wants to go electronic. The guitar guy will work in a couple notes and then the electronic guy will turn a knob and twist up the sounds into unrecognizable electronic flurries. It’s almost a stressful push-and-pull of a listening experience, but with popping drums and a repeated sing-along that wouldn’t be out of place in a Passion Pit song, there’s enough to hold on to through the fantastic mess.
