“Hi-Five” is the second single off Burn Your Fire for No Witness, out February 18 on Jagjaguwar. There’s a traditional country ring to it—it even starts with “I feel so lonesome I could cry”—but the punk edge in every trembling note Angel Olsen hits with her deceptively sweet voice gives “Hi-Five” some teeth. It’s not your gentle folk music or your mild-mannered roots music, and that’s a good thing.

“Are you lonely too? Are you lonely too?/Hi-five, so am I”
