“But Bill Murray is a person!” you indignantly exclaim. “He’s not a song, he’s a person!”

Phantogram looks back at you with those sweet, sad eyes you know so well. “Sweet child,” they say. “Bill Murray is everywhere and everything at once.”

For the latest cut off their new album Voices, New York electro-pop duo Phantogram has channeled the Big Apple’s resident sprite, using Mr. Murray’s name to create a ballad as only they can. Still seething with power and thick synths, “Bill Murray” is a step removed from the Voices we’ve previously heard.

Phantogram’s Josh Carter had this to say in an interview with the Atlantic:

We always pictured a sad Bill Murray for the visuals of that song. We want him to be in the music video.
