For only being around for a handful of months, the Leeds based four-piece Adult Jazz already sounds like they’ve been together for years. Playing their first gig back in November, the band has made quick work of things, already releasing a 12-inch, playing a number of shows, and just recently announcing the release date their debut album.

To tease their first project, they’ve released the nine-minute gem, “Spook.” Listening to a song that long in this age of short attention spans is a daunting task, but it pays off. Carefully constructed by several different parts, the song stays interesting through changes in tempo and sharp shifts in instrumentation.

Adult Jazz is a band to watch out for, so stay tuned for their debut album Gist Is, being released on August 4 via Spare Thought. And check out “Spook” below.
