Sometimes a song just comes along and reinvents what it means to be brooding. Canadian rapper and producer Night Lovell takes his enigmatic and murky aesthetic as far as it can possibly go, with a somber yet menacing sound that hits hard and lingers long after. “Trees Of The Valley” is his latest, and its beat is absolutely brutal with its sub-woofer bullying bass, providing an intense and darkened backdrop perfect for his deadpan confidence. Hammering away with its unrelenting barrage of noise, it makes for a promising preview of his upcoming project, Concept Vague.

Listen to “Trees Of The Valley” below, and watch the gritty video for the anguished “Dark Light” below that. Concept Vague is due December 21.
