Unlike most indie/folk/alt ensembles of 2015, Twin Limb isn’t coy about genre. They straightforwardly claim “dream pop“—it definitely fits, but like most attempts to compartmentalize, also doesn’t tell the whole story. Using accordions, guitar, strings, and vocal harmonies, this Louisville trio of multi-instrumentalists create stirring, hazy, and yes—dreamy music. But where for others “dream pop” might be a veiled way of saying “superficial,” Twin Limb is anything but. “Long Shadow” sounds deep but effortless, with endless layers tied together by the song’s easy pulse and fluid vocals.
Listen below, and look out for their first ever tour outside of Louisville supporting Houndmouth next month.
